Superfoods can show up in the most interesting of places. You may most likely know them to be used in smoothies. Seems like an obvious application. However, superfoods are nutrient dense and with some creativity, you can apply them to a long list of recipes, from drinks to salads, main dishes, baked goods and desserts. Spirulina was my superfood of choice in this cilantro-mint dressing recipe because of its has detoxification properties. It also has the ability to flush out heavy metals and chemical toxins from the body. More on Spirulina later. On to the recipe!
The greens and avocado salad was just an accompaniment to the dressing really. This was so simple to make, full of flavour and the spirulina added an extra shot of nutrients.
